WAL-MART Documentary Movie

Kristy Tully, Director of Photography

Kristy Tully is a freelance cinematographer working in documentaries, commercials and narrative films. Kristy’s first experience working in the arts began all the way back in high school in STAC, (Student’s Television Arts Company). The company was assigned three hours of the school day and used it writing, producing and directing narratives and documentaries under the tutelage of Ron Demaio. From this experience she went on to earn a BFA in Filmmaking from SUNY Purchase.

There she also began her interest in public service. She was a board member for New York Public Interest Group (NYPIRG). With NYPIRG she helped run voter registration drives, educate students about (and organize) lobby efforts in Albany, establish small claims court hotlines, as well as tackle many other issues.

After graduation Kristy began working on film sets in NYC in the electric and grip departments. She became a gaffer working on Jim Mc Kay’s first feature film GIRLSTOWN. In the 90’s, she went on to light countless commercials and several other independent features including, Cindy Sherman’s OFFICE KILLER.

Kristy began shooting commercials and music videos in New York City and moved to Los Angeles in early 2004. Meeting Robert and his team of socially conscious activists, Kristy hopes to continue her work in and for the public interest.
