Sandra Laney
Resident in Chandler Arizona

Sandra Laney is a well-respected pillar of her community. She’s also a very active member of the Republican Party, whose walls are lined with signed photos from Ronald Reagan and the Bush family. Politics are in Sandra’s blood (her father was a politician) and she has always fought for conservative causes large and small. As she says, “I always believed you can fight City Hall.”

Sandra LaneyThe biggest cause landed on her doorstep one day when Wal-Mart announced plans to build a super-center in the middle of Sandra’s peaceful planned community in Chandler, Arizona. Sandra rallied local residents and fought tooth and nail to keep Wal-Mart from destroying her way of life. Wal-Mart got desperate enough to sue the town, but finally they admitted defeat after four long years. Thanks to Sandra’s efforts. an organic supermarket now sits on the plot Wal-Mart had set its sights on.

Sandra is now using her political savvy and hard-earned experience to help others who are battling to keep Wal-Mart out of their communities.
